There are two ways to make stained glass windows:

  • Leading

  • Copper Foiling

Note: Most of the glass painting was done by other Willet artists. The only piece in this gallery painted by me is the Vitruvian Man.

Leaded Windows

Joining glass in lead channels is the traditional method, usually called "glazing."

I apprenticed with Willet Studios—one of North America's oldest studios—from 2024-25, where I specialized in glazing new windows. I also restored decorative liturgical windows and experimented with enamel paints.

Copper Foil

Wrapping the glass with adhesive copper foil before soldering is a modern approach, popularized by Louis Comfort Tiffany. You've probably seen his lamps.

I got my start in the industry copper foiling—these are my original designs and commissions.
